WISE Ambassadors Club at Inclusion BC Conference 2025
Title: Empower to Achieve-Thinking beyond employment
Location: Inclusion BC Conference, Everybody Belongs 2025
The energy was high, the stories were powerful, and the room was buzzing with inspiration!
The WISE Ambassadors Club (WAC), in collaboration with UNITI’s WISE Employment Solutions, delivered an empowering workshop, titled “Empower to achieve-Thinking beyond Employment”, at the Inclusion BC conference, Everybody Belongs 2025.
This wasn’t an average session; rather, it was part storytelling circle, part myth-busting game, and part real-talk about employment, confidence, financial literacy, and most importantly leadership. The session celebrated the power of peer mentorship and lived experience in reimagining what employment can truly mean.
Led by Akshay Sachdeva and presenters Trevor, Lindsay, and Tammy, this dynamic team shared how WAC supports individuals with disabilities to not just work on their employability skills but to lead, mentor, and thrive. Their journeys were honest, humorous, and deeply human.
What made this session special?
- Real stories, real impact: Presenters shared their ups, downs, and lessons learned on their employment journeys.
- Interactive fun: A “Myth Buster” game kept the crowd guessing and laughing & and learning at the same time.
- Money talks! Tammy wowed the audience with her personal story about learning to budget. Thanks to Financial Literacy sessions from WISE & RBC.
- Mic drop moments: “We’re not just working — we’re leading, mentoring, and building inclusive communities!”
Key Takeaways:
- Employment is more than a paycheck: it’s about purpose, pride, and possibility.
- Peer mentoring, financial literacy, and education are powerful tools for change.
- Inclusive employment benefits everyone: individuals, businesses, and communities.
The WISE Ambassadors left the audience inspired, informed, and ready to think beyond employment.
